Christmas at the Turret House

A very special evening of traditional music, dance and drama in Sheffield Manor Lodge Turret House & Discovery Centre: The evening will be fronted by Handsworth Traditional Sword Dancers and friends, with local & traditional carols, short tales and a traditional mumming play; close harmony group 'One Accord' from Lancashire performing traditional songs from their side of the divide; 'Son De America' from Sheffield Uiversity performing wonderful traditional dances from South America in the most fantastic costumes; folk musician Ollie King who has just released his first CD to great national acclaim; plus a dramatic performance with Chris Binns - meet Sheffield's armourer, Kelham Homer for an English Civil War Christmas in Royalist-held Sheffield Castle under siege by the Parliamentarians!

It's a 1940s Christmas

Join us for open house at Manor Cottage. Enjoy the company of our 1940s characters – farmer and ARP Warden John Barnes, his wife, family and friends for an afternoon of 40s food, entertainment, seasonal crafts and reflection on the Sheffield blitz nights of 12 and 15 December 1940.
